Learn the first section of the Tai Chi form, following a detailed training plan split into 16 sessions, each lasting 30 minutes. Move at your own pace, repeating sessions until you feel ready to move on.
Each session is broken up as follows:
– Warm up
– Sequence So Far
– Move of the Session Detail
– Move of the Session Practice
– Form Run Through
– Standing
– Cool Down
Traditionally you start with the Form on the right side, and then when you have finished you start again from the beginning on the left side to do the mirrored version. The instructional videos (Tutorials) assume you are following this, so the right side videos are more in-depth compared to the left side videos (which are there to help you transition from right to left).
– Strategy 1: Focus on the right side first, then when you have completed the course do it again focusing on the mirror side
– Strategy 2: Do the lesson on the right side the first day you train, then repeat on the left side the next day (or when you feel happy with the right side), alternating until you get to the end of the course
– Strategy 3: Do a longer session by doing both sides each day, assuming you’re able to learn the new move sufficiently
