Wing Chun

June 7th: Beginner Grading (Term 2)

Student Grades 1-4

Monday 7th June – Saturday 18th June

Gradings will take place in your normal classes, and you can sign up by letting us know in class during the preceeding weeks. Grading is optional each term, and we recommend wating till you feel comfrtable with your material. If you are unsure if you’re ready please chat to an Instructor in class.

If you are not grading this time around you will be able to train as normal during the class.

Revision Grades (4, 8, and 12) £35

August 2nd: Intermediate/Senior Grading (Term 2)

Escrima Concepts

July 17th: Impact

When: Saturday 17th July 2pm-4pm

Details:

This Impact session will focus more on intensity and physical hard work rather than the technical syllabus training of the normal classes. If you want to put yourself, and your training partner, under a bit more pressure and see how far you can go, this is the session for you.

We will be covering sparring drills, unarmed, workouts, conditioning, and more. 

The session will include optional padded stick sparring at the end for those with their own equipment.

If you want to be able to do the partner exercises, please ensure that someone else from your training bubble is attending, otherwise you’ll be doing solo exercises due to the current regulations.

Equipment needed: water bottle, towel, sticks (plus tonfa, knife, staff if appropriate), training gloves, armpads, gum shield, and any other training/protective equipment you have that you would like to use.

August 6th-8th: Intensive Training Course (ITC)

Deatils: Topic: Syllabus with Contact

5 hours training each day (2x 2.5hr sessions) focussing on training the syllabus with contact (as we’ve had a bit of a break over the past year).  We will begin with the grade you are currently working on, and then move up or down the syllabus as appropriate.

November 20th: Senior/Advanced Training

November 21st: Seminar & Grading

When: Sunday 21st November 10am-4pm

Available to: All Levels
Price: £50 + £20 if grading

Details: This will be a syllabus focussed session, with the opportunity of grading for those who are ready, taught by Grandmaster Steve Tappin and Wayne Tappin (4TG) and is highly recommended for all Escrima students.

Tai Chi Chuan

August: Integrated Kun Tao Tai Chi Summer Camp

When: Friday 20th August – Sunday 22nd August, 10am-5pm each day
Where: Central Park, Park Crescent, Peterborough, PE1 4DX
Available to: Students of all levels
Price: £20 per day.

Details: Three days training in the sun in with Master Ricky Crofts. This event will be attended by Instructors and students from Belgium, Germany and the UK and is an amazing opportunity to really develop your Tai Chi Chuan – mentally and physically. There will also be the opportunity to look at the other parts including Wing Chun, Escrima, Tai Chi Weapons, Wild Goose, Black Tiger, Chi Kung and more!

We will be training outside, so please do bring hats and long sleeves to protect against the sun, as well as jumpers and jackets in case of rain showers. In the case of heavy persistent rain we will endeavour to find a local hall to use, however this may result in a small extra charge towards room hire.

On the Friday night we will be visiting Grandmaster Brian’s grave, followed by a dinner with his family. On Saturday night we will all go out for a meal and then retire locally for drinks and a bonfire. You are welcome to join us for either/both.

You are welcome to come to as many or as few days as you want. Some of the Cambridge Kung Fu team will travel up each day and some will be staying overnight, so if you are interested in sharing transport get in touch.
